1339138 Discharging fluids W B DRAGAN 17 Dec 1970 60060/70 Heading F1R [Also in Division A5] A syringe for dental filling material comprises a carrier 10 and an applicator gun 12, the gun comprising a barrel 12A to one end of which the carrier is detachably connected, the carrier having a piston 13 slidable therein, and a plunger 19 slidable within the barrel and having a projection 21 on its end which can engage with the piston 13 to discharge filling material from the carrier. The carrier may be made from disposable plastics and has a tubular reservoir portion 10A, and a discharge tip 10B which progressively diminishes in cross-section from inlet to outlet, and has an orifice 14 at its outlet end. Alternatively its outlet end may be closed The barrel has an end wall 16 having a hole 17 through which the carrier is fitted to the end wall. Alternatively the end wall may be replaced by a cap detachably screw threaded or hinged to the barrel, for fitting the carrier. The carrier may be made from transparent material. The tip 10B is angularly disposed relative to the reservoir 10A. A finger grip 22 is connected to the barrel.
