The mould comprises parts 1, 2 and removable sectors 5 held by a member 6. Compressed air is fed into the bag via a valve 9 to mould the band, after which the bag and core are replaced by a tyre carcass and curing bag whereby the tread band and carcass are joined and vulcanized.
