Abstract

1320052 Moulding tyres GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO 26 April 1971 [1 June 1970] 11325/71 Heading B5A [Also in Division B7] A tyre is inflated with elastomeric foamable material by placing the unfoamed material in the cavity of a previously moulded tyre, mounting the tyre on a wheel rim and placing the assembly in a steam atmosphere whereby the material is expanded and cured within the cavity. The steam may be saturated and applied to the tyre in separate stages, between which stages the material is allowed to foam at atmospheric pressure.
