Abstract

1293683 Dressing grinding wheels DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 19 April 1971 [11 Feb 1970] 6496/70 Heading B3D A radius dressing tool comprises a dressing element 1 on a mounting 3 retained on a substantially annular surface 12 of a support member 13 by magnetic means (10, Fig. 2, not shown). The element, such as a diamond or abrading surface, is mounted on the end of a rod 2 which is adjustably clamped by screws 4 in the mounting 3, the position of the element being determined by abutment with a stop 9 on a gauge member 5 positioned by a scale or slip gaugesplaced between the end 8 of the mounting 3 and a plate 7 mounted on a gauge member 5. The mounting has a curved surface (11) incorporating one end of the magnet (10) so that the surface adheres to but is slidable on the curved surface 12 of the support member 13. The mounting 3 is guided for angular movement around the surface by a guide 14, the movement being restricted by stops 15. Wipers 16 maintain the surface 12 clean.
