Abstract

1292652 Sealing intercell connections ELECTRIC POWER STORAGE Ltd 4 Feb 1970 [4 Feb 1969] 5846/69 Heading H1B In a battery in which an intercell connector 11 passes through a notch 16 in the top of an intercell partition 15 a mould 18, which encircles or partly encircles the connector, placed against one face of the partition forms in cooperation with partition and either a similar mould on the opposite side of the partition or a closure 25 which at least partly closes the notch a space containing sealant: When the mould only partly encircles the connector it cooperates with another part which may be the container or another part mould to encircle the connector and form the sealant space. As shown in Fig. 1 the mould 18 and closure 25 are formed as a single thermoplastic moulding which is placed on the connector 11 before the latter is burnt to the strap 12. The sealant space is filled through openings 23, 24 with, e.g., an epoxy resin.
