Abstract
1292605 Liquid fuel fired boilers YGNIS SA 19 Sept 1969 [1 Oct 1968 5 Sept 1969] 46253/69 Heading F4B A liquid fuel/air mixture is delivered to an unlined, cooled combustion chamber shaped as a body of revolution, in a direction between the tangential and radial and the gases burnt in the rotary stream are discharged in two directions in the zone of the axis of the combustion chamber In a boiler furnace, Fig. 2, fuel and air from a blower 11 burns in a rotary stream in a spherical combustion chamber 29 enclosed in a water space 33 and the gases are discharged through diametrically opposed outlets 17, 15 directed axially of the burning stream to pass over water tubes 35 to the flue 23. The gases may pass from a combustion chamber enclosed in one end of a boiler to tubes traversing the other end of the boiler. The combustion chamber may be ovoid, or cylindrical, and the flue outlets may project into the combustion spaces. Baffles may be arranged in the combustion chamber to prevent a direct shortcircuiting flow between the burner and flue outlets.
