Abstract

1291422 Photographic development process CIBA-GEIGY AG 11 March 1970 [14 March 1969] 11669/70 Heading G2C Silver halide photographic material, especially X-ray film, is rapidly developed by treatment firstly, for at least 0À5 secs at from 10-80‹ C., with an alkali metal hydroxide solution at a concentration of 20-250 g per litre of developing at least 0À1 secs, at a temperature in the range 40-80‹ C. and at a pH of 3-10 with a developer solution containing 20-60 g per litre of developing agent e.g. pyrocatechol, para-methylaminophenol sulphate, 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone or hydroquinone. A further treatment by a second alkali metal hydroxide solution is desirable. The material is fixed or stabilized and washed and dried in known manner.
