Abstract

1290150 Knitting-machines WIRKMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT VEB 5 Dec 1969 59497/69 Heading D1C A warp knitting machine for knitting several fabrics simultaneously includes at least two reciprocable weft thread laying means 31, 32, laying a plurality of endless weft to and fro across transport means 40, 41 and 41, 42. Each laying means carries several thread guide eyes one behind another. The wefts are anchored on the transport means by hooks. In the embodiment shown the laying means are driven by pegs 50, 51 attached to two chains driven by a common source. If the fabrics knitted are of different width the laying means are driven by a common chain, but one peg is arranged to have lost-motion relative to its laying means. Thus in Figure 2 (not shown) the peg 50 moves vertically in the slot 52 over part of the run of the chain; in figure 3 the slat (96) is open-ended so that the peg loses contact with the laying means.
