Abstract
1,243,650. Knitted fabrics. KARL MEYER TEXTIL MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. 14 Aug., 1968 [17 Aug., 1967], No. 38922/68. Heading D1K. Warp knit pile fabric is produced by forming the pile yarn into loops on empty needles and passing it across one or more wales of the ground fabric between loops and engaging the pile yarn in the yarn extending between the wales. The fabric may be a three-bar fabric comprising on bars 3 and 1 a 1-0/0-1 chain and a 1-0/2-3 chain respectively while the pile yarn on bar 2 makes loops on empty needles, e.g. 5, 6 and between loops crosses wale 7. In a four-bar fabric comprising a 1-0/0-1 chain and 1-0/2-3 and 2-3/1-0 chains the pile yarn again makes loops on empty needles and crosses a wale in between. In other examples the pile yarn may be incorporated in a ground fabric comprising chains and laid in wefts or may cross two wales forming loops on either side of and between the wales.
