Abstract
1289669 Semi-conductor time delay switching Circuit COPYSTATICS MFG CORP 6 Sept 1971 [5 Oct 1970] 41407/71 Heading H3T [Also in Division B8] In a copying machine, while no document if present between a lamp 32 and a detector 34 a relay 24 remains energized to hold open a contact 23, and potential builds up at the junction between a diode 13 and a capacitor 14. After sixty seconds the potential breaks down a neon lamp 18 and turns on SCR 20 to turn off a Triac and stop the machine. If a further document is fed within the sixty seconds, closing of the contact 23 shorts the lamp 18 and prevents turning off of the Triac 46, so that the machine continues to operate. If the machine is unused for sixty seconds it is therefore stopped, and the SCR remains turned on, so that to restart the machine, the switch 11 must be opened and then closed again.
