Abstract

1287156 Water-storage tower PARKANO OY 27 Nov 1969 [28 Nov 1968] 58053/69 Heading E1T A water tower comprises a cistern 1 mounted on a concrete/steel column 5, the cistern being in the form of a polygonal ring shaped chamber built up from a number of sections of tubular steel plate. The cross sectional area of the ring opening is greater than that of the column and enable the cistern to be assembled around the base of the column and subsequently lifted into its final elevated position. A heat insulating shield 4 surrounds the cistern and the column may be provided with water pipes a staircase or elevator. A water tower provided with two cisterns is also described (Fig. 3).
