Abstract

1286740 Electro-chemical machining WISSENSCHAFTLICH-TECHNISCHES ZENTRUM GETRIEBE UND KUPPLUNGEN 4 Nov 1970 52508/70 Heading C7B Electro-chemical machining apparatus comprises a housing containing a cathode 1, a piston 2 and a piston-rod 14. A diaphragm 3 attached to the piston divides the housing into a lower chamber for electrolyte 5 and an upper chamber for hydraulic fluid 4. When the hydraulic fluid is pumped from supply 12 the piston is lowered and the cathode approaches the workpiece 8. The movement of the piston is damped by compression spring 6. Electrolyte is supplied to the lower chamber by way of a bore in the piston-rod.
