Abstract

1286517 Muffie furnaces ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 23 Oct 1969 [24 Oct 1968] 51896/69 Heading F4B In a high pressure furnace having a pressure chamber with outer walls 10 and a sheath 11, the upper closure 23 of the pressure chamber seats on an annular part 21 sealed to the walls 10 of the pressure chamber and carrying an insulating sheath 20. The cover 23 has a part projecting into the charging opening and carrying an insulating inner cover 25. The lower end of the pressure chamber is closed by a member 13 projecting into the pressure chamber and carrying an insulating bottom 19 and the furnace chamber 18 on the outside of which are heating elements 17, the leads of which pass through the member 13. Pressure medium, e.g. argon, is supplied through a channel 16 in the member 13. The seals between the sheath 20, the seating 21 and the pressure chamber wall 10 prevent circulation of the pressure medium outside the insulating sheath. A press-stand 1 holds the closure and bottom member in place while the furnace is operating.
