Abstract

1403380 Arc furnaces ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 30 Nov 1972 [1 Dec 1971] 55271/71 Heading H5H An arc furnace of the same general form as that of Specification 1,403,379, has sound insulating screens 22, 23 which are lowered to insulate the furnace area. The closed screens also define a furnace surround from which fumes do not escape. Suction devices for extraction of fumes from the furnace and the surround have intakes 26, 27, Fig. 3. The electrodes 11, 12, 13 are # connected by cables 25 from transformers 24 located on the outside at a partition wall, Fig. 2.
