Abstract

1286484 Valves COPLASTIX Ltd 28 Aug 1970 [30 Aug 1969] 43273/69 Heading F2V A valve has two resilient sealing members 34 disposed at opposite sides of a closure member 28 slidable in a frame 22, the sealing members being compressed when the valve is closed. The frame is constructed of U-shaped channel members of cast iron or treated mild steel to which the members 34 are secured by an epoxybased adhesive. Each member consists of a resilient strip 36 of a closed-cell non-absorbent plastics or rubber foam material such as nitrile or neoprene rubber bonded to a bearing layer 38 of polypropylene or medium density high molecular weight polyethylene providing a low coefficient of friction with the closure member which may be of closed cell rigid polyvinyl chloride foam with an outer skin. A hand wheel 32 operates the closure member.
