1286359 Moulding coatings on screw threads COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 1 Oct 1970 [2 Oct 1969] 46787/70 Heading B5A [Also in Divisions B6 and B8] A toothpaste tube or like container provided with a threaded outlet neck has a thin walled covering of heat shrunk plastics material in tight conformity with said threads. A collar 22 of heat shrinkable material, e.g. P.V.C., polyethylene or polypropylene is severed by means 21 from tubing 17 intermittently advanced by rolls 19, and located about the neck 13 of a toothpaste tube; heat is applied to the collar, e.g. by the residual heat of the tube after leaving an oven and/or by a heater 23, causing it to shrink about the threads. A threaded closure cap is then screwed on to the neck to complete the shaping of the covering.
