Abstract

1427021 Cross linked polymeric closures RAYCHEM Ltd 14 Aug 1973 [17 Aug 1972] 38436/72 Heading B8T A process for closing a container 3 comprises push fitting a cap 1 of cross linked polymeric material over the container neck 4 whilst the cap 1 is at a temperature above its crystalline melting point and then cooling the cap to a temperature below its crystalline melting point so that it shrinks and seals the container. The cap may be applied by means of a heated die, Fig. 2 (not shown).
