Abstract

1286346 Cartridges IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 April 1971 [26 May 1970] 25202/70 Heading F3A A cartridge for underwater blasting comprises a closure member 17 fastened in the mouth of a casing 11 by a circumferential bead and groove arrangement 18, 19. The part 20 is divided by slits into segments. Air-escape holes 24 in a base closure member 13 are closed by a paper label (not shown). One closure member is concave and the other convex, so that the cartridges rest together when strung along a fuse-cord threaded through tubes 23. The cartridge is made of polyethylene, polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride and is filled with a gelled explosive.
