Abstract
1285903 Semi-conductor switching circuits TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON 19 Nov 1969 [20 Nov 1968] 56693/69 Heading H3T A bi-stable relay R is set to one position or the other by respective SCR's Ty1, Ty2 one or other of which conducts according to the polarity of an A.C. source U at the time of application of a common input pulse I which can be shorter than would be required if it were to operate the relay directly. The SCR's are each turned on by a pulse occurring during half cycle of the supply U of appropriate polarity and conduction lasts until the end of that half-cycle, for which time the relay is operated, the relay being operated in opposite senses according to the direction of current in its winding. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) the SCR's are both connected in the same polarity with the supply U, one however being connected through a phase inverting circuit PS to a separate relay winding, the two windings (R1, R2) driving the relay in opposite directions.
