Abstract

1285901 Closed circuit heating systems G BAUKNECHT GmbH ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIKEN 19 Nov 1969 [19 Nov 1968] 56567/69 Heading F4U A heat exchanger 6 is heated by, and condenses, steam generated in a thermal storage heater 1. Condensate is returned to the storage heater by a system which includes a back pressure pipe 19 discharging to a condensate tank 9 to relieve any excess pressure occurring in the heat exchanger or the storage heater. The tank 9 is open topped and is downstream of a self regulating accumulator which governs the condensate level in the heat exchanger 6. The heat exchange heats the feed and return lines 24 and 25 of a central heating system, and the temperature of the feed line is used to regulate a condensate return valve 12. A further return valve 15 is open only for periods allowed by a timer 28 and is by-passed by a fixed but interchangeable throttle 17.
