Abstract

1284972 Refrigerators EMHART CORP 26 March 1970 [27 March 1969] 14756/70 Heading F4H Panels for use in a refrigerable structure comprise sheets 8, 10 of surfacing material e.g. metal, for enclosing a thermally insulating material 6 each sheet having an inwardly directed marginal portion 12 having a flange 14 extending parallel to the sheet and spaced from the corresponding flange 14 of the other sheet and means for securing the panel to an adjacent panel is carried by the spaced flanges. The securing means may be of the latch type comprising a male member 20 in a projecting male portion 16 of a panel having a latch 22 actuated by station of a shaft 24 to move the latch into and out of engagement with a pin 26 mounted in a female member 28 in a recessed portion 18 of an adjacent panel. A fixedly secured gasket 17 covers the recessed portion 18. The opposite ends of the securing means 20, 28 have brackets 34 with looped portions 36 and outwardly inclined legs 38, the ends 40 of which are embraced by S-shaped clips 42 which also embrace the edges of the flanges 14 so as to hold the brackets and securing members during expansion of the insulation.
