Abstract

1284270 Storing and transporting goods/ flexible containers AIRFLEX CONTAINERS Ltd 3 April 1970 [27 March 1969] 16108/69 Headings B8C and B8D Goods are enclosed in a flexible or partly flexible envelope which is evacuated to embrace the goods for transportation and is inflated to protect the goods during storage. The envelope may be a container, a vehicle body, or a post pallet, Fig. 1. The post pallet has a rigid base 10 to which a flexible cover 11 is secured. The cover has a pressure-tight sliding clasp fastener 16 which may be released to provide access to the base 10, and has a valved outlet (not shown) which may be connected to a source of vacuum or to a compressor. The cover 11 may be transparent or have transparent win. dows (not shown) and a dessicating substance may be enclosed in the envelope. The posts 14 of the pallet have feet 15 which facilitate stacking, and may be detachable or folding. The envelope may be inflated with nitrogen or carbon dioxide, and have a pressure relief valve.
