1282821 Variable resistors ERIE TECHNOLOGICAL PRODUCTS Inc 19 April 1971 [12 March 1970] 12047/70 Heading HIS A variable resistor has a resistance track 17 and a metallic collector track 27 each having a wiping contact 25, 26 held by two resilient metal arms 23, 24 placed back-to-back and riveted at 21 to the central moulded plastics block 19. Alternatively the two arms may be replaced by a single arm and the metal collector track by another resistance track. The potentiometer may be circular or linear. Also provided are terminals 18, 19, a spindle 11 to move the wipers, and a plastics snap-on case 28. Several potentiometers may be arranged side-by-side, controlled by concentric spindles one inside the other moving on ball bearings.
