Abstract

1282125 Polymerizing vinyl chloride GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO 9 Dec 1969 [28 Jan 1969] 60103/69 Heading C3P Vinyl chloride is polymerized in aqueous medium in the presence of sufficient of a peroxydicarbonate initiator to effect polymerization at a rate of at least 14À3% per hour while effecting vaporization of part of the monomer and condensing and returning this to the reaction medium; an antifoam agent is also present. The initiator may be formed in situ from an alkyl haloformate and hydrogen peroxide.
