Abstract
1281783 Suspending curtains W HACHTEL 26 Feb 1970 [3 March 1969] 9437/70 Addition to 1259334 Heading A4B A curtain rod 11 of the type disclosed in parent Specification is supported by an intermediate member 21 in turn supported on a wall either by a bracket 22 extending rearwardly of the rod 11 or by an end-support 24 longitudinally aligned with the rod 11, the intermediate member 21 comprising at one end-face a 52 recess 53 shaped to receive the square-section end of the rod 11 and its wings 13, 14, wings 26, 27 with runner guide flanges 28, 29 aligned with the flanges 16, 17 of the rod 11, dovetail shaped grooves 66, 67 to receive a correspondingly shaped end 122 of a support bracket 22 and recesses 58, 59 to receive projecting parts 85, 88 of the end-support 24 adjustably secured by a screw engaged in a threaded hole 79 in a slidable plate 78. The endsupport 24 comprises a plate 84 with screw holes 86 for wall fixing. A decorative member 23 may be secured to the plate 84 when the rear bracket 22 is used to support the rod 11. The bracket 22 may include flanges 99 to locate an end runner and may be adjustable in length to vary the spacing of the rod 11 from the wall. The intermediate member includes holes 54, 56 to receive nails or screws driven into the core of the rod 11 and apertures 31, 32 to receive a frame 33 carrying draw cord rollers 37, 38. Runners are fitted on to the intermediate member 21 through closable gaps 39, 41.
