Abstract
1281782 Thermal regenerators KUREHA KAGAKU KOGYO KK 25 Feb 1970 9080/70 Headings F4H and F4K To reduce the temperature fluctuations of the continuous heated fluid output from a plurality of cyclically operated regenerative heat exchangers 1, 2 each containing heat accumulating material 1a, 2a, the output is passed through a temperature equalizing device 3 containing heat accumulating material 3a. As shown the fluid to be heated is air which isselectivelysupplied from a pipe 4 to one or other of the exchangers through valves 5, 6 and heated air leaves by way of valves 7, 8. Air and fuel are selectively supplied through valves 9, 11, 10, 12 to burners in the regenerative exchangers to cyclically heat the heat accumulating material 1a and 2a. The regenerators can be used to heat a liquid or a vapour instead of air. Alternatively the regenerators may be used for cooling a fluid, the burners being replaced by cooling sources.
