Abstract

1280558 Semi-trailors CARMICHAEL & SONS (WORCESTER) Ltd 23 May 1971 [26 May 1970] 25144/70 Heading B7B A semi-trailer comprises a frame 11 with main and forward horizontal portions 12, 14 joined by a portion 13 inclined upwardly to the forward portion, a storage tank 16 supported on a sub-frame 17 which may be tipped; the tank 16 and sub-frame 17 following the contours of the frame 11. The tank is tipped about a pivot 29 at the rear of the frame by a jack 31 arranged at the forward end between pivots 32, 33 on the frame and sub frame respectively. A compressed air supply 35 enables material, such as sugar, to be discharged through outlet valve 30. The tank and sub frame may be fabricated from aluminium sheet welded together.
