Abstract

1279602 Reservoir applicators R W DARLINGTON 22 Aug 1969 [22 Aug 1968 25 March 1969] 40096/68 and 15426/69 Heading A4K [Also in Division A1] An applicator for applying herbicides to weeds and other undesired vegetation comprises a liquid chamber 7 to one end of which is connected a handle 5 and a filling cap 9 and to the other end of which is connected a wad 12 of polyether foam which is held in communication with the chamber by a tube 11 extending into a recess in the wad, and which is partly enclosed within a tubular extension 25 of the walls of the chamber. An annular anti-drip sleeve 14 of foam material may be bonded to the internal surface of the extension 25 such that the sleeve is in mating contact with the wad. Passage of air through the chamber 7 may be controlled by a valve means Figs.3 and 4 (not shown) in the filler cap 9.
