Abstract
1279499 Disc brakes SOC ANON DBA 23 Sept 1969 [23 Sept 1968] 46885/69 Heading F2E In a spot type disc brake a fixed support 10 straddles the disc and is comprised of a flat support plate 18 on one side of the disc and two L-shaped members 22 welded to circular ports 24 of the plate 18 with one limb of each L extending parallel to the axis of the disc and the other limb extending parallel to the support plate 18 but on the opposite side of the disc. The support plate 18 and the confronting edges of the L-shaped members 22 define respective openings 19 on either side of the disc, in which are held respective pads 12 on either side of the disc, a floating stirrup 14 and guiding (key) members 16 against which the stirrup 14 is held by resilient means acting between the stirrup 14 and the fixed support 10. The members 22 are welded to the plate 18 by a weld bead 26 on the side of the plate 18 remote from the disc and cantilever portions 28 of the members 22 project beyond the plate 18.
