Abstract

1,090,058. Band brake. H. TEVES, E. A. TEVES, and M. TAUSEND, [trading as ALFRED TEVES MASCHINEN-UND ARM. ATUREDFABRIK KOMM.-GES.]. Nov. 30, 1964 [Dec. 13, 1963], No. 48559/84. Heading F2E. An internal band brake comprises a band the ends of which are actuated by an operating member, a brake carrier in the form of a plate or like member, at least one abutment member secured to or integral with the brake carrier and a pair of bearing blocks on the band, each block being arranged to bear against one side of the abutment members or one of said abutment members. In the embodiment shown two blocks 34, 35 are provided on the band, abutting respectively against abutments 37, 38 provided on the brake carrier 36. In a second embodiment (Fig. 3a, not shown) blocks are provided at the ends of the band adjacent to the actuator mechanism. In another embodiment (Fig. 1a, not shown) the blocks are provided on the portion of the band diametrically opposite the actuator. The brake drum 5 is provided with a disc portion engageable by disc braking means.
