Abstract

1371853 Disc brakes CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 1 Feb 1972 4733/72 Heading F2E A disc brake comprises a lever supported pad 14 on each side of the disc 10, an actuator disposed between the levers 20, and limit stops 64 serving to centre the levers when the brake is disengaged. In the construction shown the actuator is of the spring applied/fluid pressure release type. Each pad 14 is held in a recess in its associated lever 20 by a dog 24, the pad 14 engaging a raised area 26 in the base of the recess so as to permit rocking of the pad.
