Abstract

127,865. Prideaux, W. de C. June 6, 1917. Cartridge belts. - Relates to belts constructed of metal links wherein the cartridges themselves form the hinge-pins, and consists in providing means for connecting the links together independently of the cartridges, so that the links do not disassemble on leaving the gun. Fig. 3 shows links formed of clips B, C, D, the outside dips B, D of one link being hinged to the central clip C of an adjacent link by a sleeve A through which the cartridge E is passed. The sleeve A is shown held in position by end flanges F, but corrugations may be formed on the sleeve to engage corresponding corrugations G on one or more of the dips; or the sleeve may be made of spiral spring metal so as to grip the inside of the clips.
