Abstract

127,840. Dibovsky, V. V. May 25, 1917. Cartridge belts. - Relates to metal link belts in which the cartridges themselves form hinge - pins between links of stamped metal plate, and consists in providing a completely closed form of link, the curved portions at opposite ends which embrace the cartridges being joined by portions of the plate which lie parallel lengthways of the link. The links, as shown in Fig. 3, are constructed by bending a sheet-metal stamping of the form shown in Fig. 4. The parts 1, 1, 2, 2 are bent round in opposite directions, and the tongues 1<a> fitted into the slots 6 and bent over. The links are hinged together through the medium of the cartridges themselves, the portion 9 of the plate being bent into a conical form to grip the bullet and limit the distance the cartridge can be pushed into the belt. The parts 10. 10, 11, 11 are, if desired, bent as shown in Fig. 3 to give further support to the cartridge. Either or both of the portions 1<0>, 5 of the plate may be bent inwards, as shown in Fig. 6, to facilitate folding the belt.
