Abstract

1277612 Resiliently mounted seats W P KLOTZ 16 Jan 1970 [17 Jan 1969] 2931/69 Heading A4U Magnets 8, 9 secured, respectively, to an independently movable seat shell 3 and to a mounting frame 10, e.g. on a tractor, repel each other and have the effect of suspending the seat shell and prevent transmission of vibrations in the frame to the seat shell. A guiding strut 7 is pivoted to the frame and to the shell, and a damping device 6 is pivoted to the frame and to member 11 having a terminal boss 4 wherein is slidable and rotatable in a groove 5 in the frame. The magnets may be electromagnets the force of repulsion being variable by varying the current supplied thereto. In modifications a magnet is provided only on the seat shell or only on the frame.
