Abstract

A chair includes a base with a magnet 6 and a seat/back unit with a magnet 5: the magnets suspending the chair. A cushion 9 below the seat allows the seat to fall back slowly under load. Ribs 7 on the back may support the back of a user.

Description

ANTI-GRAVITY CHAIR
Chairs are in use everywhere' the masons of them comprising a platform to sit on with a back rest and legs or a stand to hold the main body of the chair. These type of chairs do not stop the body mass from loading down onto the spine,, enviably causing back pain.
Orthopacdic chairs offer more support, but are expensive and have a limit to the amount of support they can achieve.
Exploring present inventions there would appear to be room for an antigravity chair. This chair would comprise of an inner chair design system supporting and holding the body weight by means of ribs which allow the spine to relax, using an incorporated stand in which permanent magnets produce repelling forces lifting the main body of the chair. This allows free movement over the stand with no friction or wear.
The invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 showing in perspective the anti-gravity chair.
Figure showing a side view.
Figure 3 showing 11 *ant view.
Figure 4 showing the rear elevation.
ln figure 1 the chair (1) is fixed to e magnet stand (2) by means of a hinge system at point (3) and in the magnetic stand at point (4) The side view, figure 2 of the chair (1) shows points (5) and (61. At these points permanent magnets are fitted of a repelling force sufficient to create an air gap between troth parts, acting as the main spring suspension unit.
Figure 3 illustrates the inner ribs, fitted horizontally within the main body of the chair ( I) to hold and support the body mass from loading down onto the spine.
Figure 4 shows the back rail (8), which stops the chair (1) from being pushed too far up by the pennanent magnets fined at points (5) and (6). It also shows the foam cushioning (9) between the chair (1) and the stand (2) to allow the chair (1) to fall back slowly under load and to return to it's standard position as shown in figures 1, 2, 3, and 4. Figure 4 also demonstrates a seating adjustment bar (10), which can be moved round as shown by the arrow to give Me chair a different position under load.

Claims (4)

1. A Anti-Gravity chair that has permanent magnetic base, which is the main suspension unit allowing the chair to hover on a hinge system or unhinged system.
2. A Anti-Gravity chair has claimed in claim I wherein the inner supports on the inside of the chair ribs to hold body mass.
3. A Anti-Gravity chair as claimed in claim 1 or 2 wherein the main body of the chair is supported by foam cushioning to allow the chair to fall back slowly and to return to its original possession.
4. A Anti-Gravity chair substantially as described herein with reference to figures 1-4 of the accompanying drawing. i
