Abstract
1277473 Elevated railways W J BROOKER Ltd 8 July 1970 [11 April 1969] 18753/69 Heading B7L [Also in Division E1] A carriage adapted to travel along the upper part of a circular structure, for the suspension of an article therefrom, comprises end frames 10, 11 on which wheels or rollers 22, 24, 26 and suspension attachments 20 are mounted and tiebars 12 connecting the end frames, the tiebars being secured thereto at points A by swivel clamps permitting adjustment of the end frames so that they lie radially with respect to the centre of the circular structure. The swivel clamps (Fig. 2, not shown) each comprise an angle member carrying U-bolts which embrace a tie-bar 12 and an end frame upright. The wheels 22, 24, 26 run along, e.g. inner and outer surfaces of the wall of a circular tank 27 and a walkway 29. Alternative wheel arrangements and end frame constructions are disclosed, and the frame members carrying the wheels may be adjustable in length.
