Abstract

1277047 Artificial grass; door mats MONSANTO CO 15 Sept 1969 [16 Sept 1968 17 Sept 1968] 45361/69 Headings A4S and A4X Artificial grass comprises a thermoplastics matrix with openings therein to allow for drainage of water, the matrix having integrally moulded tufts 2 on one side and a backing sheet of porous material bonded to the other side. The backing sheet may be a synthetic, porous, fibrous woven or non-woven fabric or an open mesh metallic screen. To the backing sheet may be bonded a layer of foamed plastics material 5 which prevents slipping of the artificial grass especially when used as a door mat. If the backing sheet is an open mesh metallic screen, a synthetic fibrous porous backing may be bonded to the underside of the matrix through the openings in the screen.
