Abstract
1276344 Amplifiers; loud-speaker circuits SERVO-SOUND SA 29 Aug 1969 [29 Aug 1968] 43186/69 Headings H3T and H4J The invention relates to an amplifier 1, Fig. 4, with negative feedback over a bridge network 2, one arm of which comprises the impedance of a loud-speaker 3, the network being balanced at all frequencies when motion of the diaphragm of the loud-speaker 3 is prevented. The arrangement is intended to provide negative feedback only around the frequency f 0 , Fig. 3, of mechanical resonance of the loud-speaker diaphragm. In practice, unsatisfactory results occur because of subsidiary resonances at frequencies f 1 , f 2 at which the inductive reactance X 13 of the speech coil is equal and opposite to the reactive component X 14 of the motional impedance. To remove the effect of these resonances, according to the invention of low-pass filter 17, Figs. 4, 5, comprising two shunt capacitors 25, 26 is connected in the negative feedback path, being coupled to the output terminals of the bridge via an active element 18, e.g. a transistor. The low-pass filter 17 also includes a series capacitor 27 which reduces the feedback at very low frequencies. In addition, a low-frequency corrector circuit 24, which may comprise resistor 29 shunted by capacitor 28 is connected in a negative feedback path directly round the amplifier 1.
