Abstract

An active filter having a variable bandpass or bandstop characteristic comprises an amplifier V1 having a negative feedback path which includes an active resonant circuit and a resistor. As shown in Fig. 6, the resonant circuit comprises an amplifier V2, resistors R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8 and capacitors C1, C2 and the resistor is either R1 or R2 depending on the setting of switch S1. The circuit is adjustable in frequency, band width, amplitude of the frequency peak, and mean gain by adjusting C2; C1, R3; R7; and R1, R2 respectively and either bandpass or bandstop characteristics may be selected by switch S1. Other forms of active resonant circuits may be employed, Figs. 2a, 3, 5a@, 7a, 8a, 9a, 10a (not shown). The feedback network may include an impedance bridge circuit.
