Abstract

1275863 Pump motor cooling STENBERGFLYGT AB 13 April, 1970 [18 April 1969] 17539/70 Heading H2A In a pump unit 1 comprising a pump 7 driven by an electric motor of which the housing 2 is at least partially surrounded by a jacket 3 to form a cooling liquid compartment, the latter is closed and divided by a partition surrounding the housing into outer and inner chambers 4, 5 mutually communicating at the axial ends 12, 13 to permit the circulation of a cooling liquid, e.g. oil in opposite directions 15 in the two chambers. The circulation may be natural if the unit is vertical, or forced by an impeller 9, and the housing may have cooling fins 8 over which the partition, in the form of a cup-shaped cover 6, is passed. The unit is suitable for a polluted liquid such as sewage water or pulp.
