Abstract

1275846 Cooking vessels ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEMS Inc 28 May 1970 [4 June 1969] 25791/70 Heading A4A [Also in Divisions F3-4] A food container has bottom and sides formed by spaced heat-conducting walls 14, 15 providing between them a sealed space containing fluidsaturated brick layers with a vapour passage between so that heat is transferred between the inner and outer walls by evaporation and condensation in the manner of a heat pipe. The top of the container may be of similar construction and heat may be applied to the middle of a large body of food 13 by a heat-pipe probe 12 transferring heat from a block at one end to the other end of the probe. The block receives heat from the interior of the container. The container may also be used for cooling food.
