Abstract

1,274,502. Combined oven and freezer. UNIVERSAL OIL PRODUCTS CO. 24 Sept., 1969 [27 Sept., 1968], No. 46929/69. Headings F4H and F4W. [Also in Division H5] A freezer-oven unit 1 comprises a preferably circular baffle 7 spaced from the rear wall of the unit, a fan 9 located in the said space between the baffle and the wall, electric heating means 11 and 12 disposed around the periphery of the fan blades (see Fig. 2, not shown) for use in the heating cycle of the unit, and a liquid nitrogen inlet nozzle 16 positioned adjacent said fan for use in the cooling cycle, said fan distributing either hot air or cold nitrogen outward radially around the annular space 13 surrounding the baffle 7 into the centre of the oven. The baffle 7 can have a central opening 15 so that the circulating air or nitrogen within the unit can be drawn through the opening into the centre of the fan. An electrical control system for the unit is described.
