Abstract

1,270,921. Handles. SPEARWELL TOOLS Ltd. 15 April, 1969 [17 Jan., 1968], No. 2513/68. Heading B4K. [Also in Divisions A1-A3 and B3] The handle of a spade, fork or shovel is made of a plastics moulding 22 which surrounds the upper end of the hollow shaft 18 of the implement. The shaft may be of aluminium and is capped by a cap 20 to prevent plastics material entering the shaft during moulding. The hilt may be moulded directly on to the shaft or made separately and drawn over the shaft or secured to it by a rivet or screw.
