Abstract

1,269,427. Load handling pallet. KOPPERS CO. Inc. and ATLANTIC RICHFIELD CO. [trading as SINCLAIR-KOPPERS CO.]. 28 April, 1970 [28 April, 1969], No. 20455/70. Heading B8H. A load handling pallet of foamed polymeric material has a base 3 with upstanding hollow supports 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 on which to mount a load 4, the forks of a fork lift device being insertable in passageways 26, 28 or 30, 32 between the base 3 and the load 4 to engage the underside 7 of said load. That surface 34 of the supports remote from the base is coated with an adhesive to secure the pallet to the load. The inner and outer surfaces of the supports and the sides and under surface of the base may be corrugated to reinforce the pallet by providing an increase in surface area, since the foamed polymeric is denser at the surface of an article than within the article.
