Abstract
1,269,208. Valves. INSTRUMENTS & MOVEMENTS Ltd. 13 Aug., 1969 [23 July, 1968], No. 35070/68. Heading F2V. [Also in Division G1] A valve has a duct connected to a source of compressed air, the duct having an exhaust passage which is closed when a thrust is applied to a valve member. The thrust is provided by a jet of air acting on the member and interruptable by the presence of an object. The pressure in the duct is indicative of the presence or absence of the thrust and actuates a fluidic circuit, a valve, or a pressure gauge. In one embodiment the duct 3 has an exhaust passage 4, and a disc 6 is the valve member which selectively closes the passage 4. When a jet of air passes through aperture 12 the disc seals the passage so that the pressure in duct 3 becomes high. When the jet is interrupted the air in duct 3 exhausts via passages 4, 8, and 2, the pressure in duct 3 becoming low.
