Abstract

126,824. Taylor, J. L., and Taylor, A. E. May 25, 1918. Stop-gear. - An engine stopgear is associated with an Aspinall or other governor used on a marine, steam, or internalcombustion engine, and is brought into operation by hand from the bridge or other distant place. The weight 3 of the governor-is pulled over to a cut-off position by means of a finger 12 on a slide 10 actuated by a wire or cord 11. The slide 10 is held in the cut-off position by a spring-pressed pin 6 which is normally held out of engagement and which engages a hole 10<x> in the slide. The mechanism may be arranged to operate in connexion with a secondary or other emergency weight.
