Abstract

1,267,857. Tunnels &c. BADISCHE ANILIN & SODA FABRIK A.G. 15 Aug., 1969 [16 Aug., 1968], No. 40916/69. Heading E1F. A pressure tunnel or pressure shaft lining is formed by arranging a sheet 3 having studs 4 externally of a core ring 5, and forcing a filler such as cement into the space between the studded sheet 3 and the rock 1 or an intermediate lining 2. The studded - sheeting may be secured to the tunnel surface while the core ring is cemented to its inner surface. A layer of sheeting may surround the studded sheeting and a layer of mortar applied between the sheeting and the rock. The studded sheeting covered with the sheeting may be formed as sleeve sections. The core ring may be formed in situ by drawing the studded sleeve section over shuttering and pumping concrete between the sleeve section and the shuttering. The studded sheeting is a thermoplastic or a mixture of bitumen and a copolymer of ethylene with a vinyl, acrylic or methacrylic ester. Physical constants of the studded sheeting are given. To complete the lining, a cement slurry is pumped under pressure through openings 6 to fill the space surrounding the studded sheeting, and to prestress the concrete in the core rings.
