Abstract

1,267,330 Spinneret for T-shaped filaments. FIBER INDUSTRIES Inc. 20 June, 1969 [20 June, 1968], No. 36539/71. Divided out of 1,266,182. Heading B5B. The spinneret comprises one or more orifices in the shape of a T, wherein the stein extends perpendicularly from the mid point of the crossbar and is separated therefrom by a distance of up to 0À008 inch, the hole aspect ratio (HAR) being 2À6-86À0. In a modification the stem of the T adjacent the cross-bar is convex, tapered or pointed and may touch the cross-bar. HAR is defined as y/z + x/z, where the distances x, y and z are measured from the centre of the cross-bar and represent: x the distance to the end of the cross-bar; y the distance to the end of the stein; and z the distance to the projected intersection of cross-bar and stein. Filaments of polyethylene terephthalate may be spun.
