Abstract

1,267,078. Railway vehicle couplings. GERMAN TRANSPORT, MINISTER OF. 17 June, 1969, No. 30697/69. Heading B7T. A railway vehicle central buffer coupling 4 is provided with an electric service line contact housing 3 has thereon a lever 11 which when the coupling is coupled with a counter coupling pivots at 10 to close switch 2 whereby a relay 8 is activated to close a safety switch 1 in the electric service line 6. When coupling 4 is uncoupled line 6 is open-circuited by switch 1 with a spring 5 causing a circuit through a train tail light 7 to be closed. The switch 2 may alternatively be mounted on the front surface 9 of housing 3 or mounted on the vehicle frame and operated by a system of levers.
