Abstract

1,265,615. Water soluble powders and granulates. BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM. G.m.b.H. 10 Sept., 1970, No. 43373/70. Headings A2B and A2E. [Also in Division C2] Readily water-soluble, friable dry powders or granulates are prepared by adding 2-5% of ammonium salt of a volatile acid or an acid which readily decomposes into volatile components to an aqueous solution of the substance and spray drying the solution, the temperature being high enough to volatilise the salt. The process may be applied to caramel, sweetened condensed milk, malt sugar syrup, coffee, cocoa or tea.
